In the Beginning - Original Painting

I read a wonderful book about the study of Moss in the 19th century.  The book was called The Signature of all Things, by Elizabeth Gilbert.  The botanist, in the book, establishes her view of evolution by studying how moss adapts itself to its environment to thrive.  She makes this discovery shortly before the ground breaking Origin of the Species, by Charles Darwin.  This story was my inspiration for this piece.

The abstract is my version of how life began inspired by the tenuous link of moss!
