About me

I’m a post impressionist artist, based in Norfolk.  My art is driven by my emotions, colour, and a deep sense of the healing power of nature.

For 18 hectic years I worked and commuted to a London office job, got married and had our daughter.   Out of the blue we had a family tragedy and our apple cart was completely overturned.  Eventually, once my head was above water, I needed a new start.  I found an old walled garden and I became a market gardener, growing English cut flowers.  Here nature weaved her magic and my inner creativity was released.  I did this wonderful and rather exhausting job for three years.  My love of flowers was nurtured and unknown to me the art seed planted. It came to fruit much later down the path of my life.  My daughter, now a young adult, flew the nest.  I began a journey all of my own.  I was given an easel as a birthday present.  I started painting flowers.  I have carried on my love of being outside, plein air painting, ever since.

I now paint flowers, sea, landscape, abstracts, whatever takes my fancy.  You can often find me in the stunning gardens of East Ruston Old Vicarage.  I am, very happily, their Artist in Residence.

The pictures of myself* and Alan Gray were taken by www.NickWhite.uk.  Nick also created much of the website.  Thank you Nick, you have the patience of a Saint and were great fun to work with.

All of the photographs of the garden and the images without people on the website were taken by me. COPR.
